Nothing much, just some parts swapping and removing. First, the receiver, then the donor.
The blue hatch comes off to be mended and painted to replace the rustier hatch on the red one.
I apologize for the bad flash. That’s the good hatch.
And the bad one. The blue also gave its side mirrors as they fold, while the red ones did not. New windshield in two weeks, rust patched up this weekend, and a new muffler and tailpipe to be put on as well. Getting work done!

What’s the story with the Jag?

That is some legit rust. Is this a thing on these models? I coincidentally saw a same-gen Durango at Winco last week and the gate was in even worse condition than that.

Yeah, it is a thing on these.

My mom paid $800 three or four years ago and it has engine trouble. Never been able to get it started.

Yeah, it’s super common. My mom’s does not have gate rust though.
In this case it’s on the front bumper.

Bummer. Probably lost compression due to timing chain guide fail and bent valves.

That’s what we suspect.
